Victor Moses has refused to blame fatigue for Inter Milan’s 1-0 loss to Napoli in Wednesday’s Coppa Italia first leg semi-final fixture.

Fabian Ruiz’s superb away goal from the edge of the area handed Conte’s side their second domestic defeat of the season.

Moses, who made his fourth appearance since arriving on a six months loan from Chelsea, insisted that the Nerazzuri must win the return leg in Naples.

“We used up a lot of physical and mental energy on Sunday but this cannot be an excuse. We are very disappointed with this defeat, but we must not lose heart. We must win in the return leg,” Moses told Inter TV.

The second leg takes place on March 5.

“It is not easy, it was a very tactical game. It is important for me to put myself at the service of the team and my teammates.”

The 29-year-old also heaped plaudits on Antonio Conte, who he is working with for the second time in his career having also worked with him at Chelsea.

“He is one of the best managers in the world. He played football himself and he has a lot of passion. I am very happy to work with him again.”

Moses was subbed off for Alexis Sanchez in the 74th minute.
